A Raised Garden

It's been more than 10 years with no vegetable garden. You'd think with 2 acres there would be ample space to grow some veggies, but there are few spots with long stretches of sun. After the Bay tree came down, a bright spot appeared in Rebel's yard in front of the stable. Start with some 8x8s cut to suitable length to create a garden bed of some 20+ square feet. Then fill it with compost. I used weeds plus aged horse manure and a bit of dirt. Photos with the dirty gardener were shot using a tripod mounted camera with remote --- hence no gloves on the gardener.

Area overview

It starts with mixing cut weeds with some horse manure...the best stuff is under the stable.

Move it uphill ... nice exercise - sort of.

A Quiet Place

I often come down to this spot, just below where I live, for solitude and quiet. I cannot hear the freeway, the air is clean, and it's just a nice place to bring my camera for photos like this one.

Now What Have I Got Myself Into?

OK, I feel like I'm just talking to myself and have absolutely no idea of what I should really put here except for a few of my photos. This is a real photograph taken in 2005 from the breakwater below Ghirardelli Square of a schooner in the Tall Ships Parade in San Francisco Bay. The seagull is also 'real' and was not added with Photoshop but was allowed to fly into the scene as it made its round trip following the winds off of the breakwater. Of course, what is reality in a photograph?
